OTTAWA, ON, August 25, 2011 — The Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATA) is pleased to announce that General Dynamics Canada has become its newest corporate member.

“General Dynamics Canada is an international leader in developing and implementing mission-critical secure communications and information systems, as well as producing mobile-rugged computing products,” says CATA President John Reid. “We are honoured that one of the world's most innovative companies has turned to CATA Alliance to continue building relationships, find partners and collaborate with other companies working in the public safety and first responder marketplace.”

Chris Pogue, a vice president of General Dynamics Canada, said, “With more than 60 years' experience supporting the communications and information-systems requirements of Canadian and international customers, General Dynamics has a unique understanding about the systems, software and integration required to successfully connect governments and agencies at the local, regional, national and international level. This expertise creates an ideal synergy between the goals of CATA and the needs of its first responder/public safety-focused members.”

General Dynamics Canada is a Diamond-level sponsor for the organization's annual First Responder Vendor Outreach Forum and will sponsor the First Responder Technology Roadmap that launches this fall. The company will also have a seat on the CATA Alliance Public Safety and Security Advisory Board. Cornell Pich, an expert in domestic and international public security policy and programs for General Dynamics Canada, will join the CATA Leadership Council.
