Hull Mounted Sonar
PROVIDING INTEGRATED HULL MOUNTED SONAR SOLUTIONS TO CANADIAN & ALLIED NAVAL FLEETS FOR OVER 40 YEARS.
Hull-mounted sonar (HMS) solutions provide a versatile underwater sensor capability that can be used in a wide range of operational missions.
Our HMS solutions are designed to achieve superior active and passive detect/track/localize performance in complex littoral as well as deep ocean environments.
Why choose our Hull-Mounted Sonar Solutions?
- Proven performance, trusted supplier. For more than 40 years, General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada has been a proud sonar supplier to Canadian and Allied navies worldwide.
- Extensive expertise. Our solutions are ever-evolving. For each product iteration, we carefully consider previous performance, user feedback, and input from our expert scientific and design teams.
- Leading-edge technologies. Incremental technology updates enable the operational end user to continuously increase the operational surveillance range for a much broader transmit-and-receive frequency spectrum.
- Unique versatility. With concurrent active/passive operation, end users can analyze a broader frequency spectrum in search of targets—and with full active transmit capability, ASW and mine avoidance transmit can be realized within the same sonar transducer.
- Ease of use. Designed in consultation with Navy operational staff, our solutions offer an intuitive and efficient HMI (human-machine interface)—minimizing operator workload while maximizing mission effectiveness.
HMS-310
Compact, lightweight, omni-directional, and with superior transmit-and-receive capability, our HMS-310 sonar is well suited for installation on smaller ship platforms where mass and dimensions must be constrained.
HMS-510
Our most predominant hull-mounted sonar, the HMS-510 for medium and large naval platforms offers higher transmit power than the HMS-310—and enables finer discretion of objects that may be close in beam space.
Hull-Mounted Sonar System Upgrades
Our Eclipse adjunct processing upgrade offers a cost-effective, low-risk installation in a ship's existing sonar system. Significantly improve your operational capability by enabling unprocessed data to be concurrently processed on modern signal processing and display hardware.
