RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL — As promised when it was established in September 2012, General Dynamics do Brasil (GD do Brasil) will bring a portfolio of solutions and systems integration know-how for military and security forces, public safety, critical national infrastructure, and business resilience requirements from across the General Dynamics C4 Systems family to LAAD 2013, which takes place from the 9^th to 12^th April this year in Rio de Janeiro. It will also continue working with local Brazilian companies and academic institutions to establish local partnerships to support security and defence programmes of national importance, and actively cooperate with those organisations and Government to see how best it can transfer intellectual property to support indigenous capability for Brazil.

General Dynamics do Brasil representatives will be present at LAAD 2013 on Stand F16 in Hall 4 and Stand Q58 in Hall 3 to showcase their combined technologies to Brazilian partners. On Stand F16 in Hall 4 the company will demonstrate their experience of delivering Operations and Emergency Control Rooms; Oil & Gas Security; Vehicle Integration; 4G/LTE Networks for Public Safety, Private and Wireless Mesh Networks and Pathmaker^TM Network Radios, whilst on Stand Q58 in Hall 3 it will launch the next-generation MESHnet® Tactical Mobile Router and demonstrate its new Co-Command C4I Decision Support Tool.

Operations and Emergency Control Rooms, Oil & Gas Security and Vehicle Integration

Operations and Emergency Control Rooms, Oil & Gas Security and Vehicle Integration Representatives of General Dynamics do Brasil will showcase the company's capabilities in delivering operations and emergency control rooms, critical national infrastructure security, frontier security and integrated vehicle systems, all of which are appropriate technologies for Brazilian authorities preparing for the security challenges of the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games. In addition, General Dynamics' 50 years pedigree in protecting sites of critical national infrastructure around the world, with particular expertise in securing oil and gas facilities can help secure Brazil's ever growing energy sector. The company's latest successful project, securing the Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi, UAE, was inaugurated in December last year.

Representatives will also demonstrate surveillance capabilities proven in Afghanistan with the British Armed Forces that could meet the requirements of several of Brazil's border security needs, integrated communications systems for police vehicles, and explain the systems integration approach that has been central to how General Dynamics has delivered the majority of the above security and defence capability to its customers.

4G/LTE Networks for Public Safety, Private and Wireless Mesh Networks

Representatives of General Dynamics' Broadband division will exhibit its suite of end-to-end long-term evolution (LTE) mobile broadband solutions that currently support some of the largest multi-agency government networks in the world. These include the United States' largest citywide high-performance mobile broadband infrastructure, the New York City Wireless Network (NYCWiN) and one of the world's first 700 MHz Public Safety LTE broadband communications networks in Adams County, Colorado, USA. Many Brazilian police forces are already showing considerable interest in this capability. The General Dynamics 4G/LTE mobile broadband solution includes highly scalable Evolved Packet Cores, LTE radio access network infrastructure base stations and end-user LTE devices. These meet the needs of government agencies and industry delivering flexible, high performance and highly scalable mobile broadband communications on private networks. The solution provides the security, reliability and spectrum flexibility necessary to build a next generation broadband wireless network.

Representatives will also present the Fortress secure wireless mesh network capability which is a scalable, self forming, self healing, path-optimizing network solution for operational, outdoor and mobile networking scenarios. The solution is targeted at military, critical infrastructure and outdoor commercial applications where information assurance and ruggedized solutions are required. Fortress Mesh delivers high speed data rates greater than 300Mbps using advanced 2x2 MIMO radio transmission.

In addition General Dynamics will demonstrate how Pathmaker^TM Network Radio users can become their own network in remote locations where no infrastructure exists or where the infrastructure has become destroyed or overloaded. Also they will show how the IP and Analog gateways can extend the reach of user networks by connecting them to the internet, legacy radios, VHF/UHF radios and APCO 25 networks.

Launch of next-generation MESHnet® Tactical Mobile Router and demonstration of new decision support tool

In Hall 3, Canadian representatives of General Dynamics do Brasil, will launch the next-generation MESHnet® Tactical Mobile Router, the TMR-200, onto the South American market and demonstrate the Co-Command C4I Decision Support Environment, which enables decision makers to visualize their domains and collaborate in real time. They will also showcase their portfolio of leading-edge, technology-based, integrated solutions for airborne, naval and land applications, highlighting the company's command, control and communications products and systems including smart displays.
