Mine Warfare
proven leader in developing innovative MCM solutions for Allied navies around the world
Stemming from our extensive ASW pedigree and experience, General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada offers outstanding Mine Counter Measure (MCM) solutions, enabling operations across the spectrum of Mine Warfare. GDMS is a proven leader in developing innovative MCM solutions for Allied navies around the world, including the Royal Canadian Navy, the United States, Sweden and Australia.
Our Mine and Obstacle Avoidance Sonar (MOAS) is a mature and fielded product that provides detection and early warning of underwater obstacles, including mines. With outstanding features such as automatic detection and tracking, operator alerts and complete 360 degree coverage, our MOAS enables Navies the freedom to maneuver where they need to, when they need to.
Additionally, our Remote Minehunting and Disposal System (RMDS) is a modular, customizable, containerized, and transportable (by air, land or sea), stand-off Naval MCM capability. It is purposely designed to be operated from a host vessel, open boat, or even from ashore. RMDS offers a low-risk, low-cost complete MCM capability (search, detect, ID, classify, and neutralization) to any Navy.
When freedom of navigation is in doubt due to the possible presence of underwater obstacles, including modern day mines, our Mine Warfare solutions provide at-sea warriors with the assured domain awareness, clarity and certainty to safely operate in any unknown or contested underwater battlespace.
