Canadian Defence Review's Western report features General Dynamics Canada, one of the country's largest Canadian defence companies. Its Calgary operation which is among the largest systems integration sites in the country, houses 400 of the company's 1,300 employees. The Calgary location was set up in 1993 to handle systems design, integration and fielding of the army's Tactical Command, Control and Communications System (TCCCS/Iris) project.

Today, General Dynamics Canada, “... provides technology-based electronic systems,systems integration, and in-service support to defence organizations and public security markets in Canada and abroad. The company has 350 employees in Calgary, a number that grows each year.”
