Job Description

General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada is seeking a motivated co-op student from a Commerce/Business Administration (or related) background to support our Program Managers. This role focuses on assisting with project controls, including schedules, financial data tracking, performance metrics, and earned value concepts. You will gain practical experience in program management fundamentals within the dynamic defence industry.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist Program Managers with tracking project schedules and monitoring costs against budget.
  • Support the collection, compilation, and basic analysis of program performance metrics.
  • Help gather and organize data related to Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentation materials, and status updates for program reviews.
  • Support the maintenance of program documentation, meeting minutes, and action item tracking.
  • Collaborate with the program team and contribute to administrative tasks.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a recognized co-op program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Management, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in project/program management, financial data, business metrics, and scheduling.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (data manipulation, charts, formulas).
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Good analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute positively.
  • Familiarity with MS Project and Microsoft Power BI is an asset.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
