Job Description

As a Configuration Management Analyst, you will provide analytical and technical support to engineering personnel and programs. You will be responsible for configuration management best practices and policies to engineering artifacts and support assigned programs in creating and executing their Configuration Management (CM) plans including planning, configuration identification, change management, configuration status accounting, configuration verification & audit. You will also support artifact releases and delivery processes. 

Your day to day:

  • Define and maintain program-level configuration management plans or other configuration documentation.
  • Administer design change reviews and approval processes or workflows.
  • Review engineering changes for proper technical CM content; provide guidance and support to engineering staff on writing changes.
  • Establish and maintain configuration baselines, product structures, indented Bills of Material.
  • Report and communicate configuration changes.
  • Maintain relationships between data records / work products within CM system.
  • Review work products for technical content and conformance to CM standards and conventions.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of CM contractual artefacts.
  • Manage artefact release and delivery processes and tools.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, conduct, and close out of Physical and Functional Configuration Audits, support audit activities.
  • Provide formal and informal training and instruction to program staff on CM practices and tools.
  • Engage in retrospectives and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or post-secondary diploma in STEM or related field
  • 2-5 years experience in configuration management, engineering or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management practices and principles.
  • Awareness of Configuration Management standards.
  • Exposure to or experience with engineering design gates, product life-cycle process.
  • Familiarity with enterprise class Product Data Management (PDM) tools.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and workflow management tools.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset and continuous improvement focus.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Assets to have:

  • Familiar with both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence and large language models.
  • Experience with EIA 649-1: Configuration Management Requirements for Defense Contracts Standard.
