Job Description

We tackle the toughest security and technology challenges by developing and delivering mission-critical products and systems for international customer. We delivery Tactical Communication Information Systems (CIS) to Land Forces around the world. The hardware, software and systems integration that our engineers deliver on a daily basis ensure soldiers are never alone, and always aware. 

We are seeking a Junior System Engineer to join our International TacCIS division at our Calgary location. The successful candidate will be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering a CIS solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze system design and vendor documentation
• Develop and document system designs, use cases and system interfaces
• Maintain requirements and specifications
• Investigate system defects and raise problem reports
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines (Platforms/Development/Systems/Test)
• Support Software Development, System Integration on achieving their deliveries

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent social skills, and ability to create consensus among peers while forming relationships with team members
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change
• Knowledge in Systems Engineering concepts and processes
• Working knowledge or experience with requirement identification, decomposition, allocation, and verification
• Working knowledge or experience working with various engineering disciplines (i.e. mechanical, electrical, safety, test, etc.) to develop requirements specifications
• Broad experience in the implementation, integration, qualification

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering; Computer Science; or a related technical/engineering degree.

Security 

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance.
