Job Description
We are currently hiring for a Junior Financial Analyst to join our team. As a Financial Analyst, you'll play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy by preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and assisting with cash flow management. You'll analyze data, identify trends, and create insightful reports that help drive strategic business decisions while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and compliance efforts. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you'll provide solutions for accounts payable inquiries and assist with audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
The Financial Analyst's primary responsibilities will include the following functions:
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Prepare monthly journal entries
- Assist with cash flow management
- Assist internal and external stakeholders with accounts payable inquiries
- Assist in the process of annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
- Efficiently gather and organize financial data from various sources
- Apply financial knowledge to analyze data, identify trends and conduct variance analyses
- Help create financial reports that provide insight into the performance of the business
- Assist in gathering data to support internal and external audits and other compliance requirements (e.g. SOX controls)
- Provide ad-hoc analysis for management decision making
- Support other finance related tasks as necessary
Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent.
- One (1) year of related experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using ERP financial systems (i.e. Oracle).
- Strong attention to detail and analytical ability to identify trends.
- Working towards the completion of an accounting designation is an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
